COMMUNITIES COME TOGETHER FOR WORLD JUNIORS SKATE DAY

-

When the calendar turns to December, lace up your skates and join the final push towards the 2019 IIHF World Junior Championship. Communities across British Columbia will head to their local arenas and outdoor rinks for a province-wide skating party to kick off the official countdown to the World Juniors. People of all ages and abilities are encouraged to come out and REPRESENT their community, province and country. As one of the host cities for the World Juniors, Victoria will play a leading role – the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre is opening its doors from 1-4 p.m. on Dec. 2. “This is just another way for us to get the entire province involved in the excitement of the World Juniors, not just Vancouver and Victoria,” said Riley Wiwchar, director of the 2019 IIHF World Junior Championship. “Bringing communities together on the ice is something simple, but something purely Canadian.” Want to get your community involved? Check out the World Juniors Skate Day registration page under Fan Info at HockeyCanada.ca/WorldJuniors and get on the ice!
