Karate coach takes na­tional role

Kraig Devlin has been hon­oured for his work as a fire­fighter, and now he’s been given a top hon­our by Karate Canada.

Devlin was this week named Karate Canada high-per­for­mance di­rec­tor. Af­ter sev­eral years as a coach with the na­tional karate team and the pro­vin­cial team, Devlin, who got his start with CASK Karate in Vic­to­ria, will now lead the coun­try’s top ath­letes.

As a fire­fighter, Devlin re­ceived the fire ser­vices ex­em­plary medal from the gov­er­nor-gen­eral.
