Officer hurt trying to stop car

-

Victoria police closed down a section of Quadra Street on Tuesday morning after a fleeing driver hit a parked car.

An officer was injured when police attempted to stop the driver about 10:30 a.m. near Cook Street at Pandora Avenue.

The driver drove off, coming to a stop only when the vehicle ran into a parked car at Quadra and North Park streets.

One person in the fleeing vehicle was taken to hospital and the rest were taken into custody.

The affected stretch of Quadra, between Fisgard Street and Caledonia Avenue — near police headquarters — was reopened by 1 p.m.
