VIRTUAL RECREATION
Find themed activities and information in areas of fitness, children’s play, arts and the environment at: Esquimalt.ca/virtualrec.
COMMUNITY EVENTS
Unfortunately many well-loved Esquimalt events have been cancelled in recent days. Some, like last week’s Earth Week celebrations, get a digital makeover and are presented online. One advantage is that if you miss the event, you can always look it up after the fact. Keep an eye on
Esquimalt.ca for event updates.
WEEKLY WORKOUTS
Residents can still get some quality time in with Esquimalt Recreation staff through the Wednesday Workout of the Day.
WHERE’S ALEX?
Recreation staffer extraordinaire, Alex, highlights a different spot in Esquimalt each week. Your challenge? Guess where she is!
PARK AND TRAIL USE
Overall, Esquimalt residents and visitors are doing a tremendous job of physically distancing in parks. For those who need a reminder, staff have placed signage in strategic park locations and have worked with City of Victoria in areas near municipal boundaries.
PARKS RESTORATION
Work to remove invasive species and enhance Esquimalt parks carries on, although under modified conditions to maintain a healthy workplace. Planting this year will build on 2019’s 450 native trees and shrubs added to Gorge Park and the 53 street trees added to our urban environment.
STAY INFORMED - SIGN UP FOR ESQUIMALT ALERT
