Michael Dunahee Slo-Pitch Tournament cancelled for 2020
The 29th annual Michael Dunahee Slo-Pitch Tournament of Hope has been cancelled for 2020 due to concerns about COVID-19.
It had been scheduled for Aug. 7-9 at Topaz Park, but organizers determined that the 28-team event would present a risk to players, volunteers and the community.
The tournament was created after the 1991 disappearance of four-year-old Michael Dunahee.
Over the years, the tournament has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for Child Find B.C. and the Michael Dunahee Search Centre.
