Motorcyclist seriously injured in crash on highway in Nanaimo
A motorcyclist is in hospital with serious injuries after a collision Thursday evening on Island Highway North in Nanaimo.
Nanaimo RCMP said a motorcycle rear-ended a vehicle on the highway near Turner Road about 11 p.m. Thursday. The motorcyclist lost control and collided with another motorcycle.
The driver of the first motorcycle was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The highway was closed for several hours while officers and a collision analyst investigated. Police said they continue to investigate what led to the crash.
The highway reopened for traffic before the morning rush hour on Friday.
