Lifetime Networks Victoria is looking for a volunteer who is interested in building a friendship with a social young man with a developmental disability who is fun to spend time with. Through Lifetime Networks, we are building a small circle of supportive friends who are committed to visiting with him each month. Some of the activities he would love to share with a new friend include: riding the bus, church activities, long walks, going on drives, attending music concerts and special events. He plays the piano and enjoys all types of modern music, and is also interested in trying new things. Community Options For Children and Families Society’s board of directors is looking for members. We are seeking volunteers with a passion for building inclusive communities with people with disabilities. Working closely with the staff team, our board of directors provides leadership in setting direction and policy, financial oversight and ensuring that our operations remain consistent with our mission. Habitat Victoria is recruiting for ReStore Product Specialists at the Westshore ReStore and Uptown ReStore. These volunteers act as ambassadors for Habitat Victoria and provide product-specific knowledge to customers in the ReStore. Volunteers in this position come with specific knowledge of the products we sell, whether it be antiques and collectables, tools, furniture, building supplies, housewares, or paint. John Howard Society. KidStart Volunteer Mentors program. (Must be 19+ to volunteer.) Be a supportive friend and go on fun adventures. KidStart is a volunteer mentor program for kids 6-18, who have been impacted by the justice system. Mentors and youth engage in fun activities once a week for three hours. HeroWork is about to undertake a Radical Renovation for the YMCA Young Mom’s Program at the Kiwanis Victoria Family Centre. We need general volunteers for light demo, painting prep, flooring work, putting up fixtures, exterior painting, landscaping, etc. No experience required and all training will be on-site prior to starting a task.
