COVID-19 advisories posted for five flights to Vancouver Island

Three more flights into Victoria and two into Nanaimo have been added to the B.C. Centre for Disease Control’s COVID-19 exposure list.

Someone who tested positive for the virus was on a WestJet flight 3349 from Edmonton to Victoria on Nov. 23. People in rows 8 to 14 are being advised to self-monitor for symptoms for 14 days.

The same advice is being given to passengers in rows 1-5 of Air Canada Jazz flight 8081 from Vancouver to Victoria on Nov. 19.

There was also a confirmed case on Air Canada Jazz flight 8075 from Vancouver to Victoria on Nov. 18.

Passengers in rows 11-17 are at the highest risk of exposure.

Two Air Canada flights from Vancouver into Nanaimo on Nov. 18 had confirmed cases on board.

On flight 8261, rows 4 to 10 are most at risk and on flight 8265 rows 12 to 18 were closest to the passenger with the virus.

The health authority will reach out to anyone who was in close contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case.

Anyone who develops symptoms should contact Island Health to arrange a test.
