Weapons threat closes Courtenay school

A Courtenay school will open today after a weapons-related threat closed the school Thursday.

Comox Valley RCMP investigated a report of a threat directed at Lake Trail Community Middle School.

The RCMP decided to close the school while the credibility of the threat was assessed and investigated, said spokeswoman Const. Monika Terragni.

The Comox Valley School District said the school would reopen today and resume normal operations.
