Avenue Barber

The NEW barbershop in the heart of Oak Bay Village. We are excited to be part of this community and hope to create a space that is both professional and fun.

-

At the moment, you will find Michael and Angela at Avenue Barber, however we look forward to being able to add a third barber in the future.

Angela grew up in Prince George and Ladysmith and moved to Victoria when she was 18. She decided on her career and did her training locally at Gibson’s Barber Shop and School. She’s been working as a barber for 3 years and loving it. Outside of work Angela loves socializing with friends and family, going for long walks and spending time taking in the culture and beauty of the city.

Michael started in the hair business when he was 21 doing his early training in Victoria and furthering it at Sassoon’s in London. He also trained and worked as an educator for Irvine Rusk of Scotland. He successfully ran his own hair salon in Victoria for 10 years. Michael took a hiatus from the hair industry to pursue his interest in film production, acting, writing and directing. In between film work, he started working as a barber. His interest in barbering grew and after several years of working in barber shops around town he is excited to have his own shop. When we opened our shop in September we had to incorporate COVID protocols for the safety of our clients. We trust you will feel safe and confident visiting knowing that we have these precautions in place but please be patient as these extra measures do require more time.

Come in for a great haircut, enjoy some easy banter and talk sports, movies, music and more… we’d love to see you.
