TRUTH + ALIBI CANNABIS CO.

-

Iremember a long time ago when I was a kid I used to love playing tetherball. I can still feel the exact spot on my right wrist where the ball would TWACK against it. Somehow, in my mind, the sun was warm and it is always a long summer day.

There was a lot of fun in our lives back then. Lots of work too. Chores, homework, helping my parents in their small business. My Dad was a firefighter in the airforce back then but he and my Mom also owned and ran a small trophy and engraving shop. Years before that my Mom had owned a little magazine and book stand at the airport.

My older sister Robin and I used to work there as kids. At 9 and 11 years old we were too young to work anywhere legally but as every family like ours knows, these are the perfect ages to sweep floors, clean ‘the back’, run change back and forth etc. When it comes to working in a family business, it’s all hands on deck. It was a good way to grow up.

I find myself reminiscing a lot about those days because we have done it again. Opened a family business, that is. This time I’m not the kid, I’m the Mom. I now co-own Truth + Alibi Cannabis Co. alongside my husband Brad and son Zach. (what a story behind that one! I’ll write it and post it soon on our website, truthandalibi.ca).

It is a pleasure to be part of a true family business again. All of us working hard, together.

The folks who come into our store and who live in Sidney and on the peninsula tell us over and over they are so happy to be able to shop in a well run, well stocked cannabis store. And because we are on Beacon Avenue, we knew we wanted to be as interesting and inviting as our neighbours. It’s an evolving and exciting business. What a treat to be at the epicentre, along with our fellow Canadians, of this amazing cannabis journey in Canada. Today I heard that legal cannabis and CBD product sales have surpassed the black market sales for the very first time. Canada is at the forefront of new health research into CBD and its uses for sleep, anxiety and pain relief. In accordance with our provincial license, all our CBD capsules, oils and creams are 100% Health Canada approved. People tell us how pleased they are to confidently buy our own Canadian vetted & trusted products.

And if I haven’ t said it to you personally if you’ve come into the shop on Beacon - Thank you for your warm welcome to Sidney and for coming into our store!
