Colwood: Where the ocean is your playground

-

If you’ve ever turned off the Island Highway onto Ocean Boulevard in Colwood and cruised down to the Lagoon Beach, you know it. That feeling you get as you weave through the woods and around the last bend, where you’re suddenly hit with a breathtaking view of the vast, open ocean. People from around the region come to Colwood’s waterfront to enjoy the spectacular ocean views, the peace and beauty of the bird sanctuary, and the joy of just lounging, playing or strolling along the beach. Creating a waterfront walkway Imagine a safe and comfortable walking and cycling path along the Lagoon Beach all the way to Royal Beach. The City of Colwood is creating the plan for a multi-use trail along the waterfront, as well as amenities such as seating, signage, lighting and washrooms. Most important will be to design these enhancements in a way that protects the highly sensitive wildlife habitat and archeological resources. Share your ideas at LetsTalkColwood.ca
