- Selena Gomez

8 p.m. on (14) (16) (15) VAX LIVE: The Concert to Reunite the World.

Selena Gomez hosts this new special (also airing on CBS and Fox) that aims to boost vaccine confidence and help get the vaccines proven effective against COVID-19 to some of the poorest nations around the world. Performers in the concert, which was pretaped at So-Fi Stadium, include Jenniworking fer Lopez, Eddie Vedder, Foo Fighters, J Balvin and H.E.R. The special also will include a salute to the 27 million heroic health workers currently involved in the worldwide battle against the coronavirus pandemic.

8 p.m. on (55) Movie: Tenet.

Director-writer Christopher Nolan (“Inception”) spent more than five years

on the screenplay for this characteristically head-spinning 2020 sci-fi action thriller, which follows a CIA agent called the Protagonist (John David Washington), who learns how to manipulate time, then uses that ability to prevent an attack from future forces determined to annihilate present-day mankind. Given only a limited release in theaters due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the film failed to break even at the box office, despite good reviews. Robert Pattinson, Elizabeth Debicki, Michael Caine and Kenneth Branagh co-star.

9 p.m. on (40) The Goldbergs

A popular song parodist guest stars in “Weird Al” — as in Yankovic — as himself. He’s giving a concert that Adam (Sean Giambrone) desperately wants to attend, but the visiting Dana (guest star Natalie Alyn Lind) isn’t as wild about it, strongly indicating to him that they’re moving in different directions. Erica and Barry’s (Hayley Orrantia, Troy Gentile) new roles as school peer counselors give them insight into

Murray (Jeff Garlin).

10:35 p.m. on (55) Movie: Insomnia.

In this engrossing 2002 melodrama from director Christopher Nolan (“Memento”), Al Pacino’s police-detective character has more quirks than other cops the actor has played. The investigator is investigated himself — due to his partner’s death — while he’s in Alaska to help solve a teen’s murder.

The chief suspect (an excellent, castagainst-type Robin Williams) seems to know a lot about the cop. Hilary Swank and Martin Donovan co-star.

11:25 p.m. on (28) Movie: Super Troopers.

A spiritual cousin to the “Police Academy” movies, this 2002 comedy forces several Vermont state troopers to sharpen up their act in the face of budget cuts and a murder. They try to save their jobs by solving the homicide before the local police department does. Brian Cox (“The Rookie”) plays the leader of the troopers; Daniel von Bargen, Marisa Coughlan and — as the state’s governor — Lynda Carter also appear. A 2018 sequel immediately follows.
