Arson fires set in Duncan park
The contents of three garbage cans and a bench were set on fire early Friday at Centennial Park in Duncan.
North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP responded to the arson about 3:30 a.m. and found two bins and a bench smouldering and the other can still ablaze.
The Duncan Fire Department arrived to quickly extinguish the flames.
“Our parks in the Cowichan Valley are here for everyone to use and enjoy and it is so disappointing to see them damaged this way,” said Const. David Grey.
Police ask anyone with information to contact them at 250-748-5522 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
