3 p.m. on (9) (18) (5) Super Bowl LVI.
In a fluke of scheduling, tonight’s Super Bowl LVI between the Cincinnati Bengals and Los Angeles Rams designates the Rams as the visiting team, despite that the game is on the Rams’ home field of SoFi Stadium. Both teams got here via thrilling victories, Joe Burrow and the Bengals via their 27-24 overtime win over the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship game, and Matthew Stafford and the Rams with their hard-fought 20-17 triumph over the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC title contest. So this game, called by NBC’s Al Michaels and Cris Collinsworth, has a lot to live up to.
5 p.m. on (87) (19) (87)
Around the World in 80 Days on Masterpiece.
Episode 7 finds Fogg, Passepartout and Abigail (David Tennant, Ibrahim Koma,
Leonie Benesch) racing through the Rocky Mountains on their way to making a critical train connection. Very much against his preference, Fogg reluctantly lets a laconic lawman and his fugitive prisoner share their chartered stagecoach, unaware the captive’s cronies are in hot pursuit. Events reach a climax in a violent showdown at sunset. John Light and Gary Beadle guest star; Jason Watkins and Peter Sullivan also star.
6:35 p.m. on (29) A.P. Bio.
The hapless Victor (Jacob Houston) attempts to catch up to his peers and become a man by sending a classmate a risqué photo in the new “Love, for Lack of a Better Term.” Meanwhile, Grace and Anthony (Sari Arambulo, Eddie Levy) try to “Parent Trap” Mary and Principal Durbin (Mary Sohn, Patton Oswalt) after overhearing a conversation that makes them take pity on the single adults. Glenn Howerton and Paula Pell also star.
7 p.m. on (25) Claws.
Desna (Niecy Nash) opens up a second nail salon location, but a rival salon owner soon appears on the premises demanding a monthly payoff in the new episode “Chapter Six: Greed.” Meanwhile, Jennifer’s (Jenn Lyon) Oxycontin addiction spirals out of control as she forms a suspiciously close bond with Tony (Anthony K. Hyatt). Judy Reyes, Carrie Preston and Karrueche Tran also star.
9 p.m. on (55) We Need to Talk About Cosby.
“Part 3” looks back at the time when Bill Cosby strikes gold with “The Cosby Show” and leverages his growing power inside the entertainment industry to allegedly commit and conceal a multitude of sins, many of them involving women. As the sitcom ends after a long and award-winning run, Cosby evolves from the beloved star regarded by many as America’s Dad into America’s Angry Grandpa, always ready to pontificate on the shortcomings of others.
9 p.m. on (58) The Righteous Gemstones.
With Eli (John Goodman) temporarily out of the picture, the Gemstone siblings (Danny McBride, Edi Patterson, Adam Devine) are left to quarrel bitterly over which of them is now in charge, until some wise words help pave their way forward in the new episode “And Infants Shall Rule Over Them.” Meanwhile, as Tiffany (Valyn Hall) tries to track down Baby Billy (Walton Goggins), Jesse’s son Gideon (Skyler Gisondo) confronts his future.
