The First Open heart Society of BC, a non-profit organization whose objectives include support for open heart/cardiovascular patients and their families, children with heart-related problems and the operation of the Victoria Heart House, a B&B facility located close to Royal Jubilee Hospital for out-of-town families is seeking Board Directors. No previous experience required, just a genuine interest in our objectives. The Board meets once a month for approximately 1.5 hours. Souper Meals is a busy, fun and supportive food services training program for clients with mental illness. The program prepares nutritious homemade meals that are sold at an affordable price to clients connected to the mental health system. We are currently recruiting a volunteer sales desk clerk. We requires someone who has the ability to handle cash at their sales desk for approx. 2 or 3 hrs/ day on a Tues, Wed or Thur. The Victoria Immigrant and Refugee Centre Society is seeking volunteers to support our Youth Enable Program’s Homework Club in May and June. The Homework Club is a fun and safe space where volunteers and children ages 6-10 meet weekly for academic and ESL support. This is a great opportunity for newcomer youth to feel welcomed, make friends, and build connections with volunteers, in addition to being a great volunteer opportunity for those who are thinking about teaching or working with children!
