Lifetime Networks is looking for a volunteer who is interested in building a friendship with a middle-aged man who has a brain injury. An older volunteer able to commit to a long-term position and who understands that memory loss can occur with brain injury is an ideal candidate. This man needs physical support and uses a wheelchair, so we hope to find someone who is able to travel and visit at his house. His interests and possible activities would include: watching sports together, playing video games together or going for walks around his neighbourhood. Sendial Volunteer Shopping Program (Thrifty Foods) is a program that shops for customers who cannot easily shop independently. We are seeking a kind and caring volunteer to phone customers and take orders on Thursday mornings for James Bay. Orders are taken from home, then dropped off or emailed to the store. The Royal Jubilee Hospital Auxiliary provides friendly retail convenience service to patients, families, visitors and staff in order to raise funds through its Gift Shop for additional patient care equipment at the hospital. Training will be provided. You will be working with an experienced and enthusiastic group of volunteers. We are especially in need of volunteers who would be interested in working the weekend shifts, although there are some shifts available during the week as well. Parking permits are provided but buses do stop right at the hospital. Volunteers should be willing to commit to working at least three shifts a month. The Victoria General Hospital Auxiliary is seeking volunteers to work in the Gift Shop at VGH as well as assist with various other fundraisers. Auxiliary volunteers raise much needed funds to purchase equipment and amenities for patients, their families and staff at VGH. No prior experience is necessary to work in the gift shop and orientation will be provided. Scheduling is flexible.
