Saanich Volunteer Services Society (SVSS) is currently seeking a Treasurer for its board of directors. Experience with bookkeeping and/or accounting and working on a non-profit board are assets. SVSS promotes independent living and enhances the quality of life for Saanich residents by providing coordinated volunteer services and connection to community resources. SVSS has provided one-to-one, direct volunteer services to Saanich residents over the age of 19 years for over 30 years. It is the strength of the partnership between our dedicated staff and passionate volunteers that truly fulfils our mission. The James Bay Market operates, rain or shine, every Saturday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 4 to Oct. 5 from the corner of Menzies and Superior in James Bay. We are an outdoor Market where interesting famers, food producers, vendors, crafters and customers all come together in the spirit of community. Currently we are recruiting for several volunteer positions all designed to help make the weekly Market a super success. Market Setup Assistants; Tear-Down Assistants; Front and Exit Greeters and Coffee and Info Kiosk volunteers are all needed.
