September 23, Bruce Bailey’s estate Black-tie parties are overrated—just ask Bruce Bailey. For the art connoisseur’s whimsical afternoon gathering, guests were asked to wear “fancy dress to reflect their ancestry or however they self-identify.” The result was a mishmash of lederhosen, kilts and flower crowns, all in support of the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. Guests perused Bailey’s private art collection, housed in his barn, before sitting down to a family-style country feast, prepared by celebrity chef Cory Vitiello. A realtime sheep-herding display set the stage for an afternoon of juggling acts, opera performances and contortionism.
