Upon pub­lish­ing our guide to the city’s best boules, batards and baguettes, we dis­cov­ered Toron­to­ni­ans’ deep and abid­ing love of sour­dough. One quoted Cer­vantes—loose trans­la­tion: “All sor­rows are less with bread.” Oth­ers just swooned in English.
