Lost her grandmother, Dorritt Paul, at Weston Terrace, a long-term care home near Jane and Lawrence

-

At 102 years old, Dorritt Paul loved candy, jewellery and piña coladas. Her family liked to joke that she was aging in reverse. “Every day, she seemed to look more fresh and beautiful than the day before,” says her granddaughter Tara Barrows. After Covid hit, her family made plans to remove her from the home, but she contracted Covid before they had a chance and died days later. “I always thought she’d be in the paper for breaking longevity records, but here we are,” says Barrows. “I hope her story helps change the future of long-term care in this country.”
