- CANADIAN PRESS

MONTREAL— IBM Canada said yesterday it will create a research centre in Montreal to help local companies bring new products to market, resulting in 200 jobs.

Its first customer will be Bombardier Aerospace, which will transfer some 40 research and development employees to the centre over the coming weeks as part of a five- year contract.

It is the seventh such centre IBM has built around the world, which it calls a Product Lifecycle Management Centre of Excellence. Its aim is to help manufacturers through their product- development processes and spans such industries as aerospace, automotive and oil and gas.
