Prices rising at 4.7%

Statistics Canada says a steady market for new housing along with higher costs for building materials and labour is pushing up prices of new homes across Canada. But the annual rate of increase held steady in July at 4.7 per cent, the same as in June. Hot spots for price increases included Ottawa- Gatineau, Victoria, Edmonton and Halifax. There was no monthly change in price in Toronto and Oshawa.
