Bosh rips into fellow Raptors

NOTEBOOK

- FROM DOUG SMITH, STAR WIRES

Chris Bosh tore a bit of a strip off his under-performing Raptor teammates during Sunday’s loss to Seattle and it made coach Sam Mitchell smile.

After all, someone else forcefully making a point can’t hurt.

“ He felt like guys weren’t taking individual challenges, so he got on some guys and they kind of picked things up,” said Mitchell.

“ As the coach, you can push and push and push, but those guys have to push each other. The good teams do that.” But no one should come to expect frequent outbursts from Bosh. Mitchell doesn’t.

“ He has to have more of that and we need more of that from Chris but again, it’s going to take time,” the coach said. “That’s just not Chris’s personality.”

“ He has to do it when he’s comfortable with it. I hope the other night was a sign but he can’t do it until he’s comfortable doing it.

“ If he tries to do it and it’s not genuine then it’s going to lose its affect.

“ He was really upset.” BRADLEY DEBUTS:

Former Raptor Michael Bradley was activated by the Sixers just before last night’s game and was in uniform for the first time this season. The 6- foot- 10 power forward had minor surgery before the season began to repair a slightly torn meniscus in his right knee.

Bradley, the 17th selection in the 2001 draft, was waived by Toronto in March, 2004 after appearing in 98 regular- season games. NEXT STOP, DES MOINES:

The Rent- A- Rodman campaign will make a stop in Iowa next year. Dennis Rodman, the former NBA star who has appeared in several leagues since leaving the NBA five years ago, has signed a two- game contract with the Cedar Valley Jaguars of the International Basketball League, IBL officials said yesterday. League commissioner Mikal Duilio said the signing is a promotional tactic, but maintains the IBL is not a “ gimmick league.”
