Party strategy
The Conservatives are going to use the pre-Christmas and post-Christmas aspects to this election campaign to deliver a twostage message. The first part of the campaign is all about distinguishing Tories from Liberals: portraying the government as tired and corrupt and Conservatives as positive, ready to take the helm. A platform will come out before the holidays; tight discipline will reign to avoid intolerant outbursts from the fringe. In the New Year, the Conservatives will drive home the “time for change” message, hoping to capitalize on fatigue with Liberals, if not the election itself.
