Students, staff ‘ deeply distraught’ over teen’s death

-

Grief counsellors were sent to Maplewood High School yesterday to provide support for students and staff “ deeply distraught” by the death of a teen who fell 15 floors while trying to flee from his female friend’s parents. Kamran Peerwani, 16, and another boy were at the home when her parents returned home unexpectedly.

While the girl’s parents were knocking on the door at the apartment at 15 Cougar Court near Markham Rd. and Eglinton Ave. E., Peerwani and the other boy tied bed sheets and started to make their way out a 15th- floor bedroom window.

“ He was very nice, very studious and much loved by everybody,” school principal Katy Posluns said. “ In any kind of conflict, he was always the peacemaker.” The boy’s family declined comment.
