Prosperity gap revised
Last Friday’s story about the report from the Task Force on Competitiveness, Productivity and Economic Activity did not account for revisions in historical calculations of gross domestic product by U. S. government agencies. The revised figure for Ontario’s 2003 GDP per capita is $ 5,200 less than the median of its peer group — Quebec and 14 U. S. states.
Ontario’s 2004 per capita GDP was, as stated in the article, $ 6,000 less than the peer median.
