Quebec City hotel beckons romantics

Mediterran­ean cruises, Metropolit­an Hotels deals in Vancouver and Toronto also on tap

We’re not quite into last-minute territory yet, but with just a week and a half to go before Valentine’s Day, it’s time to book that romantic getaway.

The Auberge Saint-antoine in Quebec City has a package available Feb. 10 – 18, that comes with one night’s accommodat­ion and dinner for two at the on-site Panache (with a little live music to set the mood) as well as breakfast for two the next morning, plus indoor parking with valet service and a half bottle of chilled Moet & Chandon in your room upon arrival.

FREE AIRFARE, UPGRADES

Sunquest’s Mediterran­ean cruise sale comes with free airfare for second passengers, plus free stateroom upgrades, for bookings made by Feb. 15 for travel March 30 – June 30. Seven, 11 and 12-night Med itinerarie­s with MSC Cruises are all part of the deal.

The free air amounts to about $750 in savings, while the stateroom upgrade bumps passengers from an inside to an outside stateroom, an outside to a standard balcony stateroom, or a standard balcony to a superior balcony stateroom. Among MSC’S many ships, the MSC Musica sails through Italy, Greece and Croatia, and the MSC Splendida to Italy, Spain, Tunisia and Malta. MAKE IT THE MET

Metropolit­an Hotels, with three properties in Toronto and Vancouver, is inviting guests to ‘Make it a Met Long Weekend’ with a third night free deal.

The promotion runs through May 21 and applies to any three nights (Thursdays to Mondays), making it an option not just for a Valentine’s weekend but also Family Day and March Break.

Here in Toronto, the Soho Metropolit­an leads in at $299 per night with this deal, while the Metropolit­an Hotel starts at $169 per night.

And at the Metropolit­an Hotel Vancouver, the nightly lead-in is $185. With all the packages, one night comes free with two (weekend) nights paid.

ROMANCE IN THE CITY

Delta properties in Montreal, Ottawa and the GTA have romance packages including accommodat­ion, breakfast for two and various perks ranging from free drinks, free parking and chocolate-dipped strawberri­es.
