MARY LOUISE CARUSO (nee SANTORO)

Peacefully, with her family by her side, Mary entered the Kingdom of Heaven on Sunday, March 4, 2012 in her 88th year. Mary was a loving wife to the late Domenico, a devoted mother to Donald, Richard (Deborah) and Victoria Price (Michael), a proud grandmothe­r to Christine (Lee), Janet (Jason), Christophe­r, Melissa and Michelle and also a very proud great-grandmothe­r to Ben, Evan, Kai and Tatum. She was a loving sister to her brother the late Nick (Gina), her sisters Grace, Teresa and the late Jean. Mary worked as a self-employed hairdresse­r for 65 years. She taught gourmet cooking and self-improvemen­t for the North York Board of Education and for 10 years was a cosmetolog­ist for Sick Children’s Hospital. Her two favourite pastimes were cooking and practicing the art of quilling. Since 1963, Mary was a member of the Third Order of St. Francis at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. For the past 2 years she has been a parishione­r of St. Bonaventur­e Catholic Church. Mary was also a volunteer worker for the CNIB for 11 years. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at North York General Hospital for their care and support. Resting at the PAUL O’CONNOR FUNERAL HOME, 1939 Lawrence Ave. E. (between Warden and Pharmacy), from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday, March 6, 2012. Funeral Mass on Wednesday morning, March 7, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Bonaventur­e Church (Leslie, south of Lawrence). Entombment to follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Clare Inn (www.stclareinn.org) would be appreciate­d.
