MACKLIN, Helen Marjorie (nee Kennedy)

— Peacefully with family by her side, at St. Michael’s Hospital on Saturday, March 3, 2012. Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Helen was the daughter of the late Samuel S. Kennedy and Hannah Crowe Kennedy. Predecease­d by her beloved husband Donald, she is survived by her daughter Jeanne, sons Robert (Shelley) of Golden, BC, Ted, and grandchild­ren Marshall and Hannah Macklin. She was the sister of Burton Kennedy of Winnipeg, and predecease­d by siblings Donald Kennedy, Gregory Kennedy, Vincent Kennedy and Evelyn Krueger. Helen was the niece of Susan Crowe (deceased) and cousin of Muriel Farrell of Chicago. She attended Robert H. Smith and Kelvin schools. A graduate of the University of Manitoba (B.SC. in Home Economics, class of 1949), she was a member of the Pi Beta Phi Sorority. Helen was a Registered Dietician who began her career at IBM and was retired from North York General Hospital. She was a long time member of the Toronto Cricket Skating & Curling Club and the Ladies Golf Club of Toronto. Heartfelt gratitude and appreciati­on to Dr. Hoffstein, the entire Respirolog­y team and the Palliative Care Unit at St. Michael’s Hospital. A special thank you to Mitzi. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME - A.W. MILES CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) on Wednesday, March 7 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service in BLESSED SACRAMENT CATHOLIC CHURCH, 24 Cheritan Avenue on Thursday, March 8 at 11:00 a.m. Interment Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
