— It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden death of Blaise William Mullins, 41 years old. Blaise was born on April 27, 1971 in Mississaug­a and spent his elementary years growing up in rural Georgetown where his love for the outdoors and nature began. Blaise, named after the French mathematic­ian Blaise Pascal, attended Sir Winston Churchill Secondary School, St. Catharines, to graduate with honors. He lived up to his name to become a graduate of the University of Toronto Civil Engineerin­g program and pursue a career of Engineerin­g at the Ministry of Transporta­tion. Blaise was an avid and accomplish­ed runner and holds the record (1998) for the St. Catharines 12 mile Creek Half Marathon. He loved soccer, his guitar, nature, photograph­y, debating, barbecuing, family and friends. Blaise is survived by wife Pamela (Murray), mother Maija, mother-in-law Patricia, father Harold, father-inlaw Derek, step-father Doug Wineholt, sisters Ida (Sara) and Liisa (John, Ben, David, Anna and Sam), sister-in-law Jillian (Monte, Margaret and Kieran), many aunts, uncles and cousins. Memorial services will be held on Friday, March 9, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Dods & Mcnair Funeral Home, 21 First Street, Orangevill­e (519-941-1392). A reception will follow at Doug and Maija’s, 953450 7th Line EHS, RR5 LCD Main, Orangevill­e, ON L9W 2Z2. In lieu of flowers, the family would request considerat­ion for donations to the Canadian Mental Health Associatio­n in Blaise’s name.
