Mary Walsh in hospital

Actress Mary Walsh has been hospitalized in St. John’s, where she is dealing with a severe respiratory infection, causing her to postpone the start of Dancing With Rage, her one-woman stage show in Toronto.

The show was supposed to start with a preview performance at Theatre Passe Muraille on Tuesday and run until March 31. Instead, Walsh will spend at least a week in hospital, her husband told the CBC.

Walsh, best known for her roles on CODCO and This Hour Has 22 Minutes — particularly Marg Delahunty, Warrior Princess (seen at right) — also missed a ceremony on Tuesday in Calgary where she was to receive a Governor General’s Award for lifetime achievement in the performing arts. Raju Mudhar
