The Moon, as I expect you will have noticed, is full. Big, bright, bold and brilliant. Just the kind of thing you want to see in the sky. Once upon a time, a full Moon made all the difference. When there were no lamps or batteries, you could find your way

ARIES (March 21 — April 20) “I shouldn’t have done this, I should have done that.” “Those people shouldn’t have done this, here is what they should have done instead.” Generally, we either direct such appraisals at ourselves or we point the finger at others from a distance. Rarely do we engage in faceto-face fault-finding. When we confront someone with a criticism, we know that it will place a strain on the relationship. Whether they become defensive or they meekly say sorry, they won’t like us for it. A little diplomacy could go a long way today.

TAURUS (April 21 — May 21) Life, it sometimes seems, is all about compromise. You want this; they want that. They may give you this, if you allow them that. If all you want is this and you are not prepared to put up with any of that, you may end up with nothing. Is the right kind of nothing better than the wrong kind of something? Some people seem to think so. But if you stick too rigidly to a point of principle today, there may be little satisfaction. Think carefully about what you are prepared to give way on, but you had best be ready to give way on something.

GEMINI ( May 22 — June 22) Rarely do we plan our days around angelic intervention. We don’t say, “I shall sit and do nothing, unless the cosmos magically moves me somewhere else and gives me a task.” Rather, we work on the assumption that no magic wands will be waved and that if we want something to happen, we will have to go ahead and make it happen. That’s very wise and practical but sometimes it means that we miss out on potentially wonderful coincidences, just because we are not expecting them. Be on the lookout today.

CANCER ( June 23 — July 23) The Moon is full. That accounts for most things. Did I say most? Well, probably, it accounts for almost everything. It accounts for the way you feel, the mood you are in, the hunger you are experiencing, your impa-

tience with a situation, the conflict this is giving rise to, the drama that is unfolding around you and the pressure that you keep coming under. To be a Cancerian is to be deeply sensitive to the movement of the Moon. It is also to be blessed with the most amazing, powerful, instinct and insight. Let that guide you today.

LEO (July 24 — Aug. 23) What can you do when you really try? What can you have power over? Who can you influence? I ask because the Moon is full, and at such times, Leos become much more easily able to manifest their full potential. Often, there is a limit to what you feel able to achieve. Material circumstances restrict you. Emotional wrangles confuse you. These problems are not about to vanish in a puff of smoke but they are all about to reveal themselves as illusory. Walk bravely up to any door you imagine to be locked and somehow it will open.

VIRGO (Aug. 24 — Sept. 23) Our feelings are rarely reasonable. That’s why we all strive so hard to justify and explain them. We don’t want to be thought of as unreasonable. We like to present ourselves as logical and sensible. The full Moon is now stirring up a reaction that you can’t just cover in a clever coat. Nor can you leave it sitting exposed and obvious. Yet you should not assume that it is wrong or irrelevant. Own, trust and accept, even the most questionable needs of your heart. Even if you can’t fulfill them, you can acknowledge them.

LIBRA (Sept. 24 — Oct. 23) “If you can meet with triumph and disaster, and treat those two impostors just the same...” So continues Rudyard Kipling in the poem we

began to quote from in yesterday’s forecast for your sign. Why does he call them impostors? Are they not real? Well, actually, no, they are not! Rarely, if ever, is a success complete and problem-free in every regard. Never is an apparent failure as hopeless as we might be inclined to imagine. For you, this full Moon carries a message about artificial inflation and magnification.

SCORPIO (Oct. 24 — Nov. 22) The convention in polite society is that we don’t tell each other our troubles. We may say, “How are you?” But the expected answer is simply, “Fine thanks, and you?” It is a social formality. It is not intended to give rise to a long list of complaints. These days, we don’t uphold this protocol so much. We whine too easily. We are not so shy to share our frustrations. In the process, we sometimes give them more currency and significance than they truly deserve. Really and truly, you are fine and you will yet be very fine today.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 23 — Dec. 21) A near miss is a very different thing to a direct hit. It may be sobering, it may be tantalizing but it lacks that air of irreversible finality. Frankly, it hardly matters what it is that you have nearly missed. If it might have been a disaster, well, it wasn’t, was it? If it could have been a triumph, well, that just tells you how close you have come and how much closer you might get next time if you try. Triumph and disaster are, of course, “impostors,” as I point out in today’s forecast for Libra. Don’t worry about either today. Just learn a lesson.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22 — Jan. 20) We are all like blinkered horses. We create filters in our minds that stop

us from seeing or hearing too many signs and signals. There are ideas that we are not open to, options that we automatically rule out for ourselves. That’s, for example, how we manage to get in and out of a supermarket without spending hours contemplating all the competing brands and offerings. And it’s not just when we go shopping that we limit ourselves. Success now requires you to notice and consider an option you might not normally see.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 21 — Feb. 19) Astrology, as I always take pains to stress, is not about accepting the inevitable. The purpose of consulting a prediction is not so that you can then say, “I have read my horoscope. I now understand that I have no choice other than to let this happen or accept that fate.” Really, you should think of me as a weather forecaster. If I tell you that it is going to rain, I am not automatically saying that you will therefore get wet. You can decide to carry an umbrella. Today brings a development that will prove hard to avoid. But it can still be enjoyed.

PISCES (Feb. 20 — March 20) The full Moon in your opposite sign speaks of your need to redress an imbalance. A situation has become lop-sided and unfair. One person keeps on winning; another keeps on losing. Power is unequally distributed. A resource is not being shared. How can you fix that? You may suspect that the only way is to put up a fight. Actually, you simply need to engage someone else in a gentle, honest and reasonable conversation. You will then find that they will automatically acknowledge and begin to tackle the disparity.
