Mayor’s staff finds suspicious envelope

A member of Mayor Rob Ford’s staff phoned police Thursday to report a suspicious envelope at City Hall. The envelope contained an unknown white substance, according to police. Police did not believe the envelope to be dangerous, but dispatched the emergency task force and chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear response team as a matter of protocol.

“A member of his staff reviewed the envelope (Wednesday), found it to be questionable but didn’t call us until (Thursday),” said Staff Sgt. Deb Abbott.
