Re Underdog Justin Trudeau beats Patrick

Brazeau in Thrilla on the Hilla, April 1

Good for Justin Trudeau and Patrick Brazeau for raising money for charity. Only their platform was a little misguided. As if we don’t have enough violence in our society already, they chose to brawl. Why not run a marathon, swim Lake Ontario or climb Mount Kilimanjaro? They could end up healthier and, who knows, maybe even a little wiser. Donald Cangiano, Oakville I suppose a boxing match between a Tory and a Liberal was the logical next step in the devolution of our Parliament. What’s next? Pistols at 20 paces? Jonathan O’mara, Whitby It’s unfortunate for Brazeau, that Trudeau did not heed the robocall telling him the fight venue had been changed to a different location. Al Yolles, Toronto Maybe we should ask Mayor Rob Ford and Councillor Karen Stintz to duke it out. If so, I’m sure the Star would get a ringside seat and splash all the gory details on the front page. But what of real news? Pat Chastang, Toronto Tim Harper describes “ringside models stuffed into black cocktail dresses.” Isn’t this something of an oxymoron? How can rake-thin models be stuffed into anything? One would rather think some of those “men dressed in tuxedos” might be more stuffed (perhaps looking like penguins). Do I detect a little gender bias here? Catherine Wallace, Oakville Aclassic Rope-a-dope. With all due respect of course. Rick Tufts, Toronto
