TV TONIGHT: FIVE WORTH WATCHING

-

Titanic Deconstructed: You can be forgiven for thinking the Titanic took weeks instead of hours to sink, given the recent plethora of anniversary programming, but indulge us since Sunday is the actual 100th anniversary. History Television has several shows, including Titanic at 100: Mystery Solved, which purports to be “the most extensive exploration and imaging of Titanic’s wreck site ever undertaken.” (History at 9).

More Titanic: CBC News Network puts a nationalistic spin on the disaster with Titanic: The Canadian Story, about the 130 passengers bound for Canada. It tells their stories through letters, diaries and accounts from surviving family (CBCNN at 10).

Dickens’ Last: Masterpiece Classic has a new adaptation of The Mystery of Edwin Drood, the novel Charles Dickens left unfinished at his death about a provincial choirmaster’s obsession with the fiancée of his nephew. It stars Matthew Rhys ( Brothers & Sisters), Freddie Fox ( The Three Musketeers) and Tamzin Merchant ( The Tudors) (WNED at 9).

Take 2 for Talent: Emilio Fina gave Canadians a Paul Potts moment when he sang “Nessun dorma” at the Winnipeg auditions of Canada’s Got Talent. The Petersburg, Ont., man gets an encore as the semifinals continue. We’ll also see 11-year-old ballet dancer Shale Wagman of Toronto; singer Caitlin Bell of Oakville; the Craz-e-crew stunt bike team of Ottawa; B.C. contortionist Nathan Knowles; Nova Scotia gospel group Oneblood and Quebec dance troupe The Brat Pack (Citytv at 8).

Liar, liar . . . Expect conflict and some skulduggery in Sunday’s episode of The Good Wife, “Pants on Fire.” Guest Canuck Matthew Perry is back as nasty Mike Kresteva. Alicia (Julianna Margulies) confronts Jackie (Mary Beth Peil) and then Jackie gets into it with Peter (Chris Noth). It’s not called a drama for nothing (Global, CBS at 9). Debra Yeo
