Sea lion found shot, decapitated on beach

The bullet riddled and decapitated remains of a sea lion have been found on Tyee Spit, an east coast beach of Vancouver Island.

Fisheries and Oceans spokesman Paul Cottrell said the carcass was found nearly a week ago. He said evidence suggests the sea lion’s head was removed after the animal had been killed by several gunshots to the shoulder.
