TV TONIGHT: FIVE WORTH WATCHING

-

School’s In in Africa: The young members of the cast of Degrassi had an eye-opening experience when they travelled to Ghana with Free the Children to help build a school. The special Degrassi in Ghana documents the trip (MuchMusic at 7:30)

Race News and Views: There are a couple of reasons you might want to watch The Amazing Race this week. The Chippendales are still in it (and maybe they’ll take their shirts off again). And rumour has it that Phil Keoghan will announce an Amazing Race Canada in a taped message right after the show (CTV, CBS at 8).

Survivor vs. Survivor: Things come to a head in the mid-season finale of The Walking Dead and we bet it’s going to be bloody. Rick and his group

infiltrate Woodbury in search of the kidnapped Glen and Maggie; Daryl tries to reunite with malicious brother Merle; Michonne finds the Governor’s zombie daughter. And we’ll meet Tyreese ( The Wire’s Chad Coleman) (AMC at 9).

Battle for Atlantic City: Season 3 of Boardwalk Empire comes to a close and that means more blood. When we last saw Nucky (Steve Buscemi), he was in desperate straits, being hunted by the psychotic Gyp Rosetti (Bobby Cannavale). But just because Al Capone’s on Nucky’s side doesn’t mean taking back Atlantic City will be easy (HBO at 9).

Rich and Poor: As part of the “Why Poverty?” campaign, TVO airs Park Avenue: Money, Power and the Amer-

ican Dream. We’re told that 740 Park Ave. in Manhattan is home to more billionaires than any other building in the U.S.; yet just 10 minutes north, on Park Ave. in the South Bronx, more than half the population needs food stamps and children are 20 times more likely to be killed (TVO at 9).
