Weekend road closures

Marathons, parades, and subway closures could cause headaches for commuters across the Greater Toronto Area this weekend.

Here’s a list of weekend road and subway closures:

GoodLife Fitness Toronto Marathon

Parts of Yonge St. will be closed Sunday as GoodLife FitnessTor­onto Marathon runners travel down Yonge St. from Finch Ave. to Davenport Rd.

Lanes in the area will shut down starting at 5 a.m. The affected area spans Bayview Ave. to the South Kingsway and Finch Ave. to Lake Shore Blvd.

Some on- and off-ramps along the Gardiner Expressway and the Don Valley Parkway will also be closed:

The westbound Gardiner off-ramps to both Spadina Ave. and Lake Shore Blvd.

The eastbound Gardiner off-ramp to Jarvis St. (the off-ramp to Lake Shore Blvd. will remain open).

The DVP off-ramp to Bayview Ave. southbound.

TTC Closures

On Saturday, there will be no subway service between St. George and Union Stations. TTC shuttle buses will be used instead.

Khalsa Day Parade

On Sunday, the Sikh Spiritual Centre Khalsa Day Parade will draw close to 60,000 people. The parade will start in Mississaug­a at around 1:30 p.m. and continue until 10 p.m. Road closures will be in effect throughout the day. Closures from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.: Humberwood Blvd., Humberline Dr. to Morningsta­r Dr.

Morningsta­r Dr., Humberwood Blvd. to Mississaug­a border Closures from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.: Carrier Dr., Westmore Dr. to Hwy. 27

Westmore Dr., Finch Ave. W. to Albion Rd.

Ontario Police Memorial Ceremony of Remembranc­e

On Sunday at 10 a.m. the 14th annual Ontario Police Memorial Ceremony of Remembranc­e will be held at Queen’s Park. The memorial honours officers who have died while on duty. Thousands of Ontario police officers will be in attendance.

Road closures will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.:

Queen’s Park Cres. from Bloor St. W. to College St.

Hoskins Ave. from St. George St. to Queen’s Park Cres.

Wellesley St. W. from Bay St. to Queen’s Park Cres.
