CAPITOL ONE — ASPIRE TRAVEL WORLD MASTERCARD

Collect: For every $1 purchase, earn two reward miles.

Bonus: 35,000 bonus reward miles with first purchase, plus 10,000 reward miles on the card’s anniversar­y.

Small print: comes with a $120 annual fee. Plus, this card requires a minimum personal income of $60,000 or household income of $100,000.

RBC — VISA INFINITE AVION

Collect: You’ll earn $1 for every dollar spent, with no limitation­s. There are no blackout periods and points don’t expire. Plus, you’ll earn 25 per cent more points on travel related purchases (flights, hotel, car rental).

Bonus: You can earn bonus points when you shop at the RBC Reward e-mall. Plus, you’re offered insurance coverage and benefits.

AMERICAN EXPRESS — GOLD REWARDS CARD

Collect: When you use this credit card to buy gas, grocery, drug store and travel purchases, you get two points per dollar. For everything else, you’ll earn one point per dollar spent.

Bonus: Booking a flight is easy and flexible. You can redeem what are called Membership Rewards points against a given charge on your monthly statement. Plus, you have access to eight other guest programs and some transfer bonuses.

Small print: This is a charge card, meaning you can’t carry a balance. There’s no annual fee in the first year. It bumps to $150 a year after that.
