SLOW FOOD IN ITALY
Gastro tours through Tuscany and Piedmont are now on sale,
The slow food movement has its roots in Italy, so it makes perfect sense that CIT Tours’ slow-food getaways focus on two of Italy’s top destinations: Piedmont and Tuscany.
And now two fall departures, both on Sept. 22, are on sale, with savings of up to $600 per couple.
The six-night Slow-Food-in Tuscany trip, now priced at $2,159 per person (reflecting a $220-per-person savings), starts in Rome and heads to Florence via Montepulciano, Pienza and Chianti, with plenty of fine dining and wine along the way. Other stops include Siena, San Gimignano and Montalcino.
The five-night Slow-Food-inPiedmont itinerary, priced at $1,899 per person (which amounts to a $300-per-person savings), includes one night in Milan and four nights in Pollenzo, with excursions to Cherasco, Monforte d’Alba, Asti and Mongiardino Ligure for vineyard tours, a cooking class in a country farmhouse and a visit to a chocolatemaker. Both trips are small group tours and space is limited. See cittours.ca and click on “Europe,” “Italy” and then “Food & Wine.”
