A news story by any other name

Poetry can be found almost anywhere, including in the pages of the Toronto Star.

And so we’re asking readers to take the words and topics that shape much of our coverage and turn them into haikus, sonnets, limericks, quatrains or any manner of verse.

The top poems in each of the 11 categories, judged by an esteemed panel, will receive a $100 Chapters-Indigo gift card and be published in the applicable sections of the Star as part of our Poetry Week in November. Readers can submit in any or all categories. Poems should be no more than 300 words. Please email each poem separately to poetry@thestar.ca with the word/section in the subject line. Include your contact information.
