What to know if you plan on attending the tournament in Toronto

Here’s what you need to know about the Rogers Cup tournament in Toronto at the Rexall Centre from Aug. 2-10.

Tickets: Fans can buy online at rogerscup.com or by phone at 1-877-2TENNIS. Tickets start as low as $20. Tickets to the final are almost all sold out. The box office is at the north end of the Rexall Centre. Admission is free to the qualifying rounds on Saturday, Aug. 2 and Sunday, Aug. 3.

Who’s coming? Almost all the top players in the world are expected. Milos Raonic will be seeded seventh in the men’s event.

Defending champ: Rafael Nadal beat Raonic in straight sets, ending the dream of the first Canadian to win the tournament.

Schedule: The qualifying portion of the tournament goes Aug. 2 and Aug. 3. The fist round of the main draw begins on Monday, Aug. 4 at 10 a.m. The quarter-finals are Aug. 8, the semifinals are Aug. 9 and the singles and doubles finals are on Aug. 10.

Courts: Centre court is the main show court and has a capacity of 10,600. The Grandstand, at the south end of the site, has seating for 2,500. Other match courts include Court 1 with 740 seats and Courts 3 and 4 with 100 seats.

Parking: Parking is available on campus for $12 a day/session. Premium seat ticket packages may include parking privileges. Shuttles are available to and from the main gate and all outer parking lots.

TV: There will be more than 90 hours of television coverage. TV coverage is provided by Sportsnet and the CBC. Sportsnet has coverage from Monday to Friday, while CBC takes over on the final weekend.

New for 2014: An upper-deck lounge has been constructe­d between Court 1 and the practice courts. From this vantage point, you will be able to take in the action on Court 1 while also keeping tabs on which players are tuning up for their matches on the practice courts.
