Ottawa did send in the army in 1970
Re Politics and the pianist, Letters April 11 Letter writer Ian Cosh asks in his comment about l’affaire Lisitsa, “Imagine if the Canadian government labeled Quebec separatists as ‘terrorists’ and sent the army to Quebec on an ‘anti-terrorist operation’.” Perhaps Mr. Cosh needs to be reminded that the Trudeau government did just that in October 1970 in response to the FLQ, a Quebec separatist group?
