- Kathryn Folliott

What’s the best way to get to Catalina Island?

By helicopter, it’s a quick 15-minute ride from Long Beach, Calif. By ferry, it’s a leisurely hour-long journey. Either way, deals await.

The Santa Catalina Island Company’s Catalina Island Midweek Escape Package includes round-trip ferry tickets plus one night’s accommodation at a choice of three island properties: the Pavilion Hotel, Hotel Atwater or the Inn at Mount Ada.

The package also comes with $125 (all prices U.S.) per-person credit at the Island Spa Catalina and $100 in dining credit at the Avalon Grille. Rates start at $159 per person, per night at the Pavilion Hotel, $144 at the Hotel Atwater and $284 at the Inn on Mount Ada. The Mount Ada package also includes breakfast, lunch and appetizers.

Another option, the Catalina Island Midweek Escape Package in Two Harbors, starts at $131 per person, per night.

Mid-week stays are valid Sunday through Thursday.
