Fast & Furious 8 coming in 2017

-

Vin Diesel has made it official: the new chapter in the Fast and Furious saga is coming fast.

Fast & Furious 8, the first complete film without the late Paul Walker, will roar into theatres April 14, 2017.

An emotional Diesel invoked his costar Walker — who died in a car accident Nov. 30, 2013 — when making the announcement at CinemaCon, a gathering of U.S. theatre owners.

“I swear to you and I swear to my brother upstairs we’re going to make the best movie you’ve ever seen,” Diesel said. Diesel did not give further details about the project.

Furious 7, released April 3, passed the $1-billion (U.S.) mark globally after just 17 days of release, a record for the fastest sprint to the box office milestone.
