Exiled government to attend UN talks
The exiled Yemeni government in Riyadh said it would attend United Nations-brokered peace talks in Switzerland, aimed at resolving the Yemeni crisis, Arab media reported Friday.
Nearly 2,300 people, half of them civilians, have been killed in Yemen’s conflict since mid-March, the United Nations said earlier Friday.
Yemen’s civil war, between beleaguered President Abd Rabu Mansour Hadi and rebels, has also displaced more than 1 million, the UN Office for the Co-ordination of Humanitarian Affairs, or OCHA, in Geneva said.
