The Inheritor, Paul Almond

Film director Almond’s death in April coincided with the publication of The Inheritor, the eighth novel of his Alford Saga, described as “an autobiographical roman à clef.” It’s an unusual approach to memoir: Every word seems based in fact but expressed in the third person, which perhaps gave him the freedom to document the evolution of the Canadian culture industry and his role in it.
