- Kathryn Folliott

We used to laze on the beach on our vacations. Now with all the buzz about “experiential tourism,” we’re looking for authentic, genuine experiences on our travels. We want to learn something on our holidays (and brag to our friends about it later). At the Woodstock Inn & Resort in Vermont, guests can get a quick lesson in falconry, in the company of six Harris’s hawks, a falcon and an owl. Prices start at $50 (all prices U.S.) per person for observers and $95 for participants. The Woodstock Inn also offers organic gardening classes, fly-fishing lessons and golf. See woodstockinn.com. Caribbean, European cruises on sale MSC Cruises “All-In” deal comes with up to $600 (U.S.) in shipboard credit for Caribbean and European cruises. And on some itineraries, kids ages 12 and under sail free. The All-In promotion applies to select 2016-17 Caribbean sailings, and select summer 2016 Europe sailings. One option, a seven-night Caribbean cruise on the MSC Divina, sails out of Miami to Jamaica, the Cayman Islands, Cozumel and Nassau. Another possibility, a weeklong Mediterranean cruise on the MSC Magnifica, departs from Venice and calls at Turkey, Greece and Croatia. The booking window runs July 6-17, 2015.
