Retail trade hits a high … Coming back from major losses in December and January with a new record, retail sales grew 1 per cent annually to $43 billion in May. Results were positive across most of the industry and nine provinces posted gains in retail trade. Most notably, Nova Scotia saw its largest monthly sales increase, while Ontario notched an uptick for a fourth-consecutiv­e month.
